It’s been a happy Easter season for us!
We started Easter week with a visit to see the Easter bunny. Colin was so excited to see her. He sat on her lap about a dozen times in the two hours that we were at the Easter party! Colin loves to have his face painted. Any time a face painter is at a party, Colin gets in line so that he can have a Spider Man mask, train, or bunny face painted on him. Of course, at this party, he was one of the first people to get his bunny face on. After about an hour with it on, he asked me to wash it off for him so that he could get another one painted on! The party also had live children’s music by Istvan & His Imaginary Band. Colin enjoyed dancing, playing tambourine with them, and getting a sucker at the end.
Before going to bed on the night before Easter, Colin decided to leave the Easter bunny a snack. He thought that the bunny would appreciate 5 carrots, orange juice, and milk. Next to the snacks, he left his basket filled with colored eggs for the bunny to hide. When Colin woke up on Easter morning, he was filled with excitement! He came into our bedroom yelling that the Easter bunny had come, so we all went to check out the goodies that were left. Chocolates, jelly beans, toys, and a book were over-flowing in his basket. The bunny had also taken a few minutes to hide all his eggs throughout the house. We’re happy to report that Colin was able to find all of them. Easter day was sunny and warm, so we filled the day with a trip to the playground, tricycle riding, a wagon ride, bubbles, and playing in the sand table. It was a great, relaxing family day!
We ended the day celebrating the Cubs opening day with grilled hot dogs for dinner. The dogs were good, but the Cubs lost. I think it’s going to be another long season. That’s a story for another day…
