Today was a beautiful, sunny, warm, December day, so we decided that it was the perfect time for one of our Christmas traditions. We drove out to a Christmas tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree! We have gone to this farm a few times over the years, but now that we live in Naperville, it’s an annual tradition. Coincidentally, it’s the same Christmas tree farm that I went to with my family when I was a kid.
This morning, we put on our rain boots so we could tromp through the muddy puddles in search of our perfect tree. After finding the field that had the type of trees that we were looking for, we grabbed our saw and started our search. We went all the way to the farthest corner of the field and finally saw the perfect tree! In quick work, Sean sawed through the trunk and we were ready to carry the tree back to our car. Colin led us back through the field, helping us to avoid the mud puddles and tree trunks left over from those who cut down trees before us. Once back at the car, we tied the tree to our car roof and we were ready to bring our Christmas tree home.
What a nice start this was to our Christmas season!
