Not all homes are as lucky as ours is – the Switch Witch comes for a visit to our house every year! Who is the Switch Witch? What does she bring? Where should I leave my trick-or-treat candy? Why does she visit? When will she come to my house? How does she know you’re waiting for her? Let’s find out!
The Switch Witch is a friendly witch who visits the homes of little boys and girls after they fall asleep on Halloween night. She brings cookies, cupcakes, stickers, toys, books, and other fun treats to leave for you at your house. Be sure to leave your trick-or-treat candy feast for the Switch Witch in a bowl or bag next to your lit jack-o-lantern pumpkin for her to take and replace with goodies. Children choose to believe in her for many reasons – if they have food allergies and can’t eat the candy they receive when they trick-or-treat, if they don’t like to eat all the candy that they get from trick-or-treating, or if they’re really hoping for a special toy or gift. She won’t visit your home until after all the children in your house fall fast asleep, so don’t stay up too late on Halloween! She will know that you want her to stop at your house if you leave your jack-o-lantern glowing in the dark. Don’t worry, she’ll blow the candle out in your jack-o-lantern when she’s done.
So, if you believe in friendly witches and would like a visit next year, leave your candy bowl out next to your lit pumpkin at bedtime and the Switch Witch will stop by your home, leave you with some goodies, and blow out the candle in your jack-o-lantern. If you believe in her, she will visit you! She believes in you, do you believe in the Switch Witch?
