The end of summer is here and school has started!
This summer was adventurous with trips to Santa’s Village, North Avenue Beach, Lincoln Park Zoo, and the Morton Arboretum. Colin had time to perfect his balance bike and scooter riding, tumbling skills, swimming, and playground climbing. He also met new friends, reconnected with old friends, and played even more with neighbor friends. Lastly, Colin ended the summer with a birthday celebration to say goodbye to being 3 and hello to the big number 4!
Pre-K 4 classes started for Colin this past Wednesday. While he was really excited, it’s possible that I was even more excited for him to get started. I didn’t sleep much on Tuesday night due to the excitement of school and did a quick “happy dance” after he walked inside with his teacher and classmates! Colin is happy to be able to play with his school friends again, but is a little sad that some of his friends ended up in a different classroom. He’s going to school every day, which is proving to be a little trying, but providing us with really good naps. We’re all really excited for a great school year as Colin has a great teacher, has already learned a few new songs, made some new friends, picked up on the new routine, and will have gym, Spanish, computer, library, and music classes. He’s going to be busy!
While we’re all sad that summer is almost over and the weather has definitely been more fall-like, we’re super excited about the upcoming school year! Tomorrow starts Colin’s first full week of school – I can’t wait to see how he does!
